Freeware to Change windows 7 icons without changing Theme

For the icon collectors out there I bring you the greatest tool to change and swap between system icons without the need of changing themes or swapping each and every icon manually.

7CONIFIER is a tool is capable of changing all your taskbar and start menu icons in a single click. All you need to do is select the package you would like to use and hit “Apply”. 7CONIFIER comes pre-loaded with three packages and you can easily add more packages of your own.

To be honest, I’m not 100% sure it worked on my system. I mean, I see a different icon for Opera, but I don’t see a different one for Notepad or for Explorer. So, I guess it’s partially successful (at least on my rig). That’s par for the course with this sort of thing – customization is tricky business!

7Conifier includes an icon-set editor which allows you to edit name, description, icon and to which program or service it belongs.

The best part of this icon changer is that it lets you create your own packages with your own icons for any application. In case you don’t see the application in the list, just add it and apply an icon of choice.

Once you are done with your customization 7Conifier will reset Windows Explorer and rebuild the icon cache for immediate change. No Reboot necessary.

This application requires .NET 3.5 (which should be already installed on your windows 7. The program is developed for the Windows 7 platform, but if you test it successfully on other platforms please let us know.
